Mystery Chronic Facial Pain Solved

Did you know that atypical facial neuropathic pain can be caused by infections in the jawbone?

The patient’s medical history revealed that her severe pain started after a root canal treatment in the upper left first molar. Because of the unrelenting pain, an apicoectomy was performed in which the tips of the roots from the root canal tooth were amputated. Because this procedure did not ameliorate the pain, the tooth was extracted by an oral surgeon. The pain persisted for 2.5 years. Energetic testing diagnosed Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and osteomylitis, that is, inflammation of the bone at the extraction site. The patient also had cranial distortions which provided an additional stress to the immune system.

Treatment included a cranial adjustment to remove the structural stress factor. Since the infection was in the bone, biofrequency treatment was instituted. Antibiotics cannot get into the bone because of the poor blood supply. In addition, a combination of homeopathic remedies were injected into the jawbone. Six months of conservative treatment resulted in 100% resolution of the chronic pain. The patient has been pain free for the past 23 years.

The take-way message is that infections can infiltrate bone, soft tissue, and into nerves. Traditional x-rays and blood tests will not reveal the “splinters” or actual cause of the pain.
